Rosendo Guajardo 64, of Whiteface died Friday night when his car struck a Santa Fe train at about 8 30 in foggy mist near Brownfield city limits. Driver Juan Cabrera Guajardo and Fabia Guajardo were reported in fair condition along with Romerio Soliz and Romar Guajardo in good condition. The accident occurred amid wet weather marking Brownfield s fifth fatality this year as police investigate the scene.
Tuesday night marks the deadline for Terry County residents to donate repairable toys at the fire station for the Goodfellows Christmas project. Boxes of food and toys will be assembled Thursday and delivered to families on the first Friday. The group reports 127 names submitted and about 750 children may receive gifts, with many families large and elderly. Despite reduced funding from the United Fund, chair Jake Geron vows no family will be neglected.
