County man in critical condition after failed assault incident

A 40 year old Terry County man is in serious but stable condition after shooting himself with a .22 rifle under his chin in an apparently failed aggravated assault and death by own action attempt. Deputies entered the residence between Brownfield and Meadow after warnings. The wife and another family member were hospitalized for observation in Lubbock. Charges pending include aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault. names were not released.

Town seeks to preserve history with brick street project

Brownfield faces preservation challenges as traffic wears historic downtown bricks.
