Sherry Rohre of 1218 E Buckley earns a trip to the National 4-H Congress for outstanding achievement in Dairy Foods. The event runs November 24 to 29 in Chicago with S A Halgren of Carnation Companies presenting. Four-H winners from 47 states and Puerto Rico participate. Sherry is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Douglass Rohre.
The Brownfield Texas area Chamber of Commerce banquet will name the Outstanding Citizen of Terry County at 7 p.m. Saturday December 8 in the high school dining commons. Dr Walter Kerr keynote speaker. L J Richardson to receive 1973 award. Celeste Thomas presents Outstanding Business Woman. Tickets urged from Chamber office.

Cotton harvest shows strong pace in Brownfield with 6 100 samples received and 33 700 bales classed in the week ending November 30. Season total reaches 104 400, well ahead of last year's progress, with quality holding high and prices rising on the Lubbock market for longer staple cotton.
Richard Lepard, named Player of the Week, is a defensive back for Abilene Christian College Wildcats. He will play in the NAIA championship in Shreveport against a North Carolina college. Lepard excels as strong and weak safety, adds kicking duties, and led the team in interceptions for a second straight year.
Dr. Joe R. Putman becomes the Brownfield Medical Center’s new associate optometrist after moving from Littlefield. Born in Memphis, he studied at West Texas State University and the University of Houston, married in Muleshoe, and now resides at 1210 E. Cardwell with his wife Sharron and two sons. He plans to meet more local residents.
Gordon Hoopman of the Chamber of Commerce announced this week that attendees should buy tickets in advance or notify the chamber office of their intent to attend. Most tickets cost five dollars.
