November Fire Dept Faces Busy Month in Brownfield
Brownfield Fire Department reported 40 fires in November with 20 inside and 20 outside city limits. Major damage included two houses at 1012 East Hester and 1112 South Fourth, a building at 711 West Main, and a trailer house at Seventh and Powell. County fires included two barns on Old Lamesa Road and Levelland Highway.

Water Usage Shows Gain in Brownfield Area
Brownfield residents used 27 621 000 gallons of water in the past month versus 25 837 400 gallons in November 1969. A trace of moisture was recorded with back records showing 1 0 inch in Nov 1969. Goodfellows Seek Toys For Children
Brownfield Goodfellows lead an annual drive to collect toys for desiring families. Toys can be dropped at the fire station or picked up by calling 637 2511. Brownfield Volunteer Fire Department crews repair used toys while local groups and individuals donate new toys and games. The Kiwanis Club cooperates and helps distribute toys on Christmas Eve morning.

Colter Handles Housing Authority Talk At City Council
Colter from Housing Urban Development in Dallas outlined plans for a local Housing Authority with the mayor as chair and a board of admissions hiring a director.
