Heavy snowfall hit the Brownfield area with slippery roads and icy overpasses. In Coleman Park the scene showed snow falling shortly after 8 a.m. with temperatures in the low twenties. Drivers were urged to drive slowly and wear seat belts while watching for icy patches and lingering ice overnight. Winter does not officially begin until December 22.
Meadow High School punched its ticket to the State Semi Finals with a 54 34 victory over Garden City in Stanton. Adrian Sanchez returned the opening kickoff for a TD and the Broncos weathered a late Bearkat challenge to advance toward the state title.

Brownfield completes a new one million gallon water tank to replace an older 500000 gallon tank from the 1940s. Officials say the project costs 500000 dollars and will boost total storage capacity to about 3250000 gallons once in service by January 1.
Windstream Communications announced on Thursday November 30 that it will lay off 13 full time workers and terminate all functions of The Door except dial up internet and web hosting effective January 31. The Door’s 1350 broadband customers in West Texas and eastern New Mexico must find new providers while dial up and hosting continue.
