BBB tips for seasonal furniture buying and mail order safety
The Better Business Bureau offers shopping tips for furniture and mail order purchases. Plan budgets and visit model rooms, compare price and quality, and read seller and manufacturer labels. Learn about return policies and warranties, and request the BBB pamphlet on buying furniture. The bureau also warns about mail order fraud, emphasizes timely shipping rules, and advises keeping order records. It notes charity solicitations and cautions about name-brand appeals, plus reports on an unlicensed auto policy operation under Texas scrutiny.
