Berryhill Sells First Bale at McNabb Gin
McNabb Gin of Wellman processed its first bale of the 1956 cotton crop Wednesday morning for Jimmy Berryhill of Brownfield. Berryhill grown Paymaster cotton, sidedressed and harvested 2240 pounds of seed cotton for a 600-pound bale. Gin paid 50 cents per pound for the bale and bought 820 pounds of seed.
