Four Starters Cubs to rebuild offense
Blue-collar Brownfield Cubs open 1995 with a 6 p.m. scrimmage at Cub Stadium against Levelland Lobos. Coach Eddie Hooper returns four offensive starters from a 6-4 playoff team and emphasizes speed, depth, and a versatile backfield led by Travon Perkins who will split tailback and halfback duties. The lineup features Jerome Morin at quarterback with Austin Hinson as a top challenger, Ronnie Hooper at fullback, and a large experienced offensive line anchored by Rusty Pickett, plus several competing backs and receivers to fill gaps from last year’s graduation.
