Wellman ISD Trustees OK 1990 91 Budget With Tax Shift
Wellman trustees approved a 1,444,540 dollar budget for the 1990 91 school year at a .83 tax rate, an apparent 14 percent rise from last year but a lower effective rate will reduce the budget by over 100,000 dollars due to declining property values. The board also updated TASB policy 36, amended the 1989 90 budget, accepted English teacher Kay Pittman’s resignation, hired Robert Boles as Pittman’s replacement, added Gary Cates to run the varsity boys basketball and teach science, and raised lunch prices across the board from 50 55 cents for lower grades and 60 cents for teachers.
