Cottage Village plans a 9000 square foot expansion on the east Brownfield site adding a dining room kitchen and office with 14 new rooms. The project costs about 725000 with a target start in three to four months and open by mid next year.
Ben Charley Wade 66 of Holbrook Arizona died August 9 in Phoenix. Funeral services were held August 15 at First Baptist Church Winslow under Owens Mortuary direction. He was born in Texas and worked in Houston freeway construction and oil fields before turning to education at West Texas State University Canyon. He taught and served as vice principal and principal in Holbrook from 1989 to 1994 and later retired from Arizona public and BIA systems. Survived by wife Jacqueline, son Ron and Tanya Wade, daughter Jessie Wade, two brothers Donnie and Bill, sister Opal Tugwell, and four grandchildren. Preceded by parents Lee Wade and Jessie Riley and sisters Betty Holman and Margaret Cox.
The Brownfield Senior Citizens Center and SPAG announce 40 hour computer classes for Brownfield seniors aged 60 and over. Limited to 20 students, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays in Room 111 at Brownfield Middle School from Aug 25 to Nov 4. Books furnished. The family of Lena Young expresses gratitude for sympathy cards flowers and gifts. They thank Bro Land Jason Igo Terry candy Roger and Sheryl for the memorial service and First Baptist Church for the meal.
