Plans are advancing for the 17th annual farm tour co sponsored by the Terry Soil and Water Conservation District and the Terry County Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture. The event will occur Thursday September 14 at the courthouse square with aims to showcase soil and water conservation and crop status.

Rep. Price Daniel Jr of Liberty appears poised to win the House speakership with little opposition in January. A previous challenger, Rep. Frank Calehoun of Abilene, withdrew after deeming Daniel too far ahead, leaving Daniel with few rivals. Daniel has built support from incumbents and newcomers and aims to serve one term while pursuing reform and a progressive label.
