Drought prompts possible emergency farm loans in Terry County
The Farm Service Agency in Brownfield accepts applications for emergency drought loans. Eligible farmers may receive up to 80 percent of actual losses or a $500,000 operating loan, whichever is less, at 3.75 percent interest. Loss calculations include Farm Insurance proceeds. applicants must show at least 30 percent production loss. Applications through March 23, 1999.

Administration building to house Headstart program
The BCISD Administration Building will temporarily host two Headstart classes in its east wing after a June 30 fire. Superintendent Charles Harrison says a new building will be brought in, with eight weeks for fabrication and a Christmas-time completion target once delivery and on-site work finish. Bids range from 66 000 to 78 000 dollars plus inventory and plumbing and electrical costs.
