UISD posts school supply lists for grades 4 through 6 with detailed items for each grade. The Friendship FCE Club held an old fashioned picnic on August 7 at Terry County Park. Brenda Schnabel provided piano and vocal entertainment. Door prizes went to Betsy Oliver and Truett Jones. Denim contest in Littlefield tied to Denim Festival

Obituary for Andrew Liston Bevers of Ropesville 85
Obituary notices services for Andrew Liston Bevers 85 of Ropesville were held August 7 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Lubbock with Rev. Mark McMillan and Rev. John Donnerburg officiating. Burial followed at Resthaven Cemetery. Bevers died August 5 at Lubbock Methodist Hospital. Born in Ladonia he married Hazel Capps in 1931 and moved to Ropesville in 1938. He retired as a farmer and belonged to the First United Methodist Church of Ropesville. Survived by wife Hazel two sons Jim of Lubbock and Rick of Ropesville two daughters Glenda Sparks of Lubbock and Pat Smith of Ropesville four sisters Bernice Hale Lillian Willis Mary Lee Barnard Ouida Wiley nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Robby Smith Ritchie Priddy Brad Burgess Tim Lamb Joe Lamb and Ronnie Bilbo.

Audrey Lucille McIntyre 83 of Brownfield died Aug 7 with services Aug 10 at Calvary Baptist Church. She and husband Carl Nichols McIntyre farmed near Lubbock and Brownfield. she left three daughters, siblings, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
