Jackpot lamb show scheduled at Terry County Showbarn
A jackpot lamb show is set for Saturday August 18 at the Terry County Showbarn. There will be two shows with entry fees of 25 dollars for Show A and 10 dollars for Show B. Entries due by Friday August 10 with a 10 dollar late fee after that date. Barn opens Friday noon, weight cards due 8 am Saturday, show starts 9 am. Send entries to Terry County Extension Office in Brownfield and contact Jerry Warren or Skipper Carlisle for details.

Back to school immunization rules defer Td booster
Texas TDH defers for one school year the Td booster requirement for students ages about 14 due to a national vaccine shortage. From July 1, 2001, to August 1, 2002, all other standard vaccines for polio DTP DTaP Hib MMR Varicella Hepatitis B and hepatitis A for border counties remain required.

Brand renewal process underway Terry County clerk statement
Terry County Clerk Ann Willis outlines brand renewal under Article 144.044 of the Agriculture Code. Residents with branded cattle have until Feb 28 2002 to renew. unrenewed brands become open to the public on March 1 2002 and void. Renewal fees are 11 dollars per brand per location, 5 dollars per additional location. those with brands in other Texas counties must renew there too.
