Storm knocks out power in Brownfield topples poles
A brief but fierce windstorm hit Brownfield Monday evening, 65 to 70 mph, snapping three utility poles and downing two circuits. More than 100 residents lost power until about 8 a.m. Tuesday. Crews worked through the night to restore service, with City Power Superintendent Butch Wagner noting two poles replaced and another stubbed for later. Street crews, fire department generators, police and sheriff deputies aided efforts while crews named include Jeff Davis and Israel Simon.
