CRMWA updates Brownfield on new water rights proposal
Brownfield officials heard CRMWA General Manager Keith Satterwhite outline plans for added groundwater rights. He cited an $85 million investment, a 54 inch pipeline, and a roughly 20 cent per thousand cost to extend the life of the well field from 50 to 75 years, potentially up to 375 years with favorable conditions. The $160,000 annual cost could adjust, and Lubbock’s renewed interest was noted as Brownfield’s rep asked for performance data on chloride reduction.
