Terry County Commissioners and West Texas Children’s Assessment Center Board set a 2 p.m. Thursday special session to open bids for a shelter and assessment center on Bynum Lane donated by Brownfield IDC. Project cost is about 1.785 million dollars with ground breaking planned May 1 and possible completion by December 31.
Ricky Willis, the start ing quarterback in the Cubs 21 to 6 win over Lubbock Estacado on Oct 6, 1972, is profiled as a Brownfield local and community leader. He coached boys and girls teams since the 1980s while serving on the Brownfield City Council and Chamber of Commerce Board, and plans to retire from coaching after this season.
