Soil Temperatures Rise Across South Plains
Soils in the South Plains show a sharp warming trend over the past two days with a ten day average minimum at 8 inch depth in the 50s. Max temps reach 80 at Lamesa 77 at Seminole 71 at Lockettville while the ten day average minimum sits around the mid 50s to mid 60s. If trends continue some southern areas may reach minimum planting conditions by next week. Linear rise noted across stations including Halfway Post and Sea graves with year ago comparisons.

Brownfield hosts the Little Dribblers District Hoop Tournament on Friday and Saturday April 14-15 at the new high school gym. Four teams Snyder Hobbs Seminole and Brownfield compete for advancement to the national event in Levelland April 28-29. Proceeds fund awards officials and travel.

Driver's Training Course At TCCAC In May Details Released
At the Terry County Community Action Center meeting Mrs. Ava McKinney announced a three day driver training course May 8 9 and 10. The bilingual instructor will cover signs laws and application forms with tests Friday. Adults 18 plus may enroll while underage pupils may sit in but cannot get a license. A foods course by Jane Blay is ongoing and seniors were served lunch by the first group with 60 guests. Oldest attendees were 93 and 85 both active Negro residents.
