Voters in Brownfield will elect a mayor and two city council members Tuesday. Polls open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at City Hall Lobby. Candidates include W K Lindsey Cliff Jones and L J Richardson Jr for the council posts, while mayor Jess McWherter runs unopposed. Council incumbents C E Ross and Lal Copeland cannot seek another term. Other council members listed remain ineligible or non-contending.

Farm Labor Wednesdays Continue At TEC In Texas
Terry farmers attended the weekly farm labor day at the Texas Employment Commission. A next Wednesday date is planned and weekly events will continue while need persists. TEC head Joe Spears reported 21 applicants, eight farmers placing orders for 12 workers, with 12 applicants, 10 referrals, and three workers hired. An El Paso worker secured a farm job within five minutes.
