Miss Regina Baethe at Hempstead school visited homefolk last weekend. Gregory of Houston visited friends here Saturday and Sunday. Miss Ethel Michalski of Houston spent days with her mother Mrs. Will Clemons. Urban of Hempstead surveyed land for R A Frazier Tuesday. A dance at Bill Lyach Saturday drew a light crowd due to rain. Miss Bertie Miller of Houston visited relatives. Larrell Lewis and wife returned home at Batson. Eva Willie and Sophie Gaidosik were Houston business visitors last week. Martin Harbacek bought the R A Frazier home near Antona Brod’s gin Antona Brod. Antona Brod, 70, found dead in bed Saturday morning. Funeral at Monaville cemetery Sunday evening. Survived by several sons and daughters.

The Wal ler County Grand Jury reports at 3 p m in September term that 14 indictments were returned 12 felonies and 2 misdemeanors. They commend court officers praise jail lighting repair and a $5 raise for the janitor and seek discharge. J D Jenkins foreman L Bradford Sanders secretary.

Last Sunday evening a mad dog was killed on the streets near the Post Office after fighting with other dogs. Mrs B Fretch, attempting to separate the animals, was bitten on the hand and the dog head sent to the Pasture Institute in Austin for rabies testing. Austin advised anti rabies treatment and Dr Stewart of Katy is administering it. Robert Lee McCauley spent several days in Houston this week.
