Royal Library Summer Reading Opens at Royal Schools
Royal Elementary and intermediate schools announce the Summer Reading Program Cool it with Books this Summer. Libraries operate Tuesday 9 to 12 at the Intermediate School and Thursday 9 to 12 at the Elementary School. Students receive library cards and can earn Reading Certificates from the Children’s Book Council after reading a required number of books. Story hour runs at 10 a.m. Thursdays.

On May 18 Connie Rogas the daughter of Mr and Mrs BD O Rogas received her Bachelor of Science from Sam Houston State College in Huntsville. She held a 3.4 GPA and made the Dean's List all four years. Vacation Bible Schools Begin This Week in Katy
Several Katy churches announce Vacation Bible School programs. Katy Community Church runs daily sessions 8:45 am to 1:00 pm for grades 1 through 6 and preschoolers aged 4 and up. Apostolic Faith Church offers June sessions 8:30 to 11:30 am with pre registration May 31. First Baptist hosts June sessions 8:30 to 11:30 am with closing ceremony June 11 and Royce Burrows as principal. A bicycle brigade is planned for Saturday at 10 am.

Over 100 top quality dairy animals will be shown at Harris County Dairy Day in Spring Creek Tomball on Friday May 80. Junior dairymen from Houston area 4H clubs and FFA chapters will judge the animals at 9 50 a m and a neon barbecue plus dairy product samples will be offered at the park pavilion.

Garland Burton Receives Degree at SHSU in 1969

He urged obtaining forms from Katy Post Office to opt out, noting federal charges for continued mailings. Katy Summer Recreation Program Set to Start June 9
Katy ISD launches a summer program supervised by Dan O Malley with Katy High School staff at the pool and gym and Roosevelt Alexander at Kilpatrick pool. Activities include swimming daily, gym play, skating, and softball with separate schedules for boys and girls. Admission is 16 cents for school age children, 30 cents for adults, 25 cents for skating.
