Austin May 4 Effective immediately county relief administrators may not extend relief from general funds to employable farm families outside town limits. Farm families may only receive advances through the rural rehabilitation corporation secured by notes and mortgages, with landlords waiving their crop share.

Texas CCC Enrollment Quota Almost Doubled
Texas is set to enroll 26 880 youths in the Civilian Conservation Corps under the new program up from 14 200. Neal Gay Texas enrollment supervisor announced last week that the new quota applies to the June 15 to August 31 period and county relief administrators will oversee the process.

Texas Expands Civilian Conservation Camps Quota
Texas raises age limit for CCC applicants from 18 to 28 and increases the state quota from 10 600 to 12 000. Applications go to the county administrator, who selects for each county to speed acceptance. The move follows President Roosevelt’s nationwide quota increase from 300 000 to 600 000.
