F F A Fat Stock Show Two Weeks Away
Final plans are under way for the Katy F F A Fat Stock Show Quarter Horse Show and Rodeo to be held March 16 and 17. L D Robinson Chapter supervisor met with rodeo breeding cattle and quarter horse committees Thursday night. The sales and parade committees meet Monday. D Townsend of the West Side Grocery meat department gave a cutting and buying demonstration to Homemaking II students supervised by Mrs. Homer Sherbert. The nineteen pupils learned proper preparation of each beef cut after studying a chart on cuts. Townsend, a butcher for 45 years, has presented similar demos in San Antonio and Houston.

Rules Should be Observed at City Dump
Citizens of Brookshire are urged to use the City Dump two miles south of Brookshire off Fulshear Rd for all trash refuge and junk. The dump has been cleaned up by County bulldozers after many failed attempts to dispose near the highway. Commissioner Guy T. Pattison Jr. had the area cleaned up and will appreciate cooperation. Regular county trash pickup occurs every fourth Thursday of the month.
