A community effort begins to mark unmarked graves at Pattison Cemetery. Brookshire Lions Club provides head markers to be distributed by Milton Schmidt and Guy Pattison Jr. Volunteers are urged to check their plots and mark any unmarked graves, with a two to three week timeline. The wooded area will be cleared after markers are placed.

Temperance film programs at Katy First Baptist Church

Victor Eason 81 formerly of Katy and Waller died in the Tulsa Hotel fire in Kilgore on June 6. Burial services were held Monday. He worked at the B M Barber Shop in Kilgore. Survivors include his wife two daughters and two sons. R P Eason a Linbech and Dietrick employee at Pattison is a brother.
