Giants Rally Past Reds In Sixth To Take 10 8 Lead
In Katy II Senior Division action on Tuesday June 15 the Reds under Bubba Baker and Giants with Mike Dalton started. The Reds led 8 0 after four innings but the Giants broke through scoring seven in the sixth to lead 10 8. Dalton lasted six innings before tiring and Robert Poorman closed the game. Baker left after the seventh. On Thursday June 17 the Braves beat the Giants 8 5 as Bobby Redus hit a third homer but Giants again rallied briefly in the seventh. Rain halted Cubs Reds on Friday June 18 and Reds Braves on Monday June 21. A double header June 25 features Giants Cubs and Braves Reds with All Stars announced between games.

Miss Harriet Wilkinson Pioneer Educator Retires
The obituary notes Miss Harriet Wilkinson born to visit her maternal uncle in Pattison chose Texas teaching roles in Rosenberg Pattison and Katy. She married Clark Wilkinson December 30 1942 in Houston and served as clerk then chief clerk of Draft Board No 5 during World War II. She later became secretary to James E Taylor Katy school superintendent until her August 1962 retirement.

Survivors include husband Clark Wilkinson Houston sisters Helen Koomey Isabel Barakian five nephews and nieces including Paul Koomey Rev Calvin Koomey Winston Koomey and Alvin Barakian along with grandnieces and grandnephews. She attended First Presbyterian Church of Houston whenever possible.

Burglaries Foiled Outside Katy Station Theft Arrests
At Fulkerson's Texaco on Katy Fort Bend Road and I 10, burglars gained entry by an overhead door. Items worth 45 dollars, mainly cigarettes and lighters, were taken. Two Houston youths, Macy Wad Young Jr 16 and Michael Jay Coghlan 17, were arrested and held on burglary and misdemeanor theft charges.
