The Brookshire Nursing Home and Convalescent Center begins operation in Brookshire Texas on Farm Road 359 one mile south of Highway 90. The facility houses 130 residents with 24 hour nursing care, modern amenities, a scheduled chaplain, recreation spaces and a staff of 35 to 40 plus administration and maintenance personnel. Final Plans for Brookshire July 3 Celebration
The Brookshire Chamber of Commerce announced plans for a community celebration starting at 5:00 p.m. with a beef barbecue, art displays from the University of Houston Architectural Department, a Texas Highway Department exhibit on Interstate 10, and local displays judged by Meredith Long of the Houston Art Gallery. A dance with music by "The Raiders" and tickets priced at 1.50 for adults, 1.00 for children, and 1.00 for dance tickets.

The Bouquet Shop Opens In Brookshire Pattison Area
Eddie Neuman and wife Mary Mitcham purchase Ann's House of Flowers from M. D. Venable. They relocate the business to their Farm Road 359 home between Brookshire and Pattison and rename it The Bouquet Shop. Fort Bend County Finalists Enter Nat's Championship Youth Rodeo
Eight Fort Bend County youths competed at the State Championship High School Rodeo in Halletsville June 14 19 1965. Finalists include David Allen Justin Thames and Phil Steffens who earned spots in the National Championship Youth Rodeo. Fort Bend riders placed in Laveback broncs elementary barrel race and doggin with several thirds and a second. About half the county rodeo members supported the team nightly at the finals.
