Miss Daisy Foster has recovered from miners since last week. Hovas made a business trip to Houston last Friday. Mrs Dewitt and daughter Carrie returned to Houston Tuesday. Guy Bains and family left Tuesday via Houston for La Port. Miss Donigan spent a week with relatives in Brookshire and Patterson. J L Willis presented fine fish Sunday eve. J G Danson paid a subscription to the great moral weekly of Brookshire. Miss Tarr of Houston visited Ruth Davis Friday to Monday. Nectar Donigan has returned to Corpus Christi with Aunt Mrs Agopian. Miss Tarr of Houston and Ruth Davis accompanied A Agopian and Ralph Davis to the Ful abear ball game last Sunday. Dangon’s son stepped on a nail but is recovering rapidly. Willie Donald spent days last week visiting uncle K Greer and family, returning Sunday. The following left Tuesday for recreation at the beach: Mrs J D Cooper, Mary Helen Bains, Lois Cooper and Virginia Mills. Rev D L Petty was here visiting Will Gra and family this week and left for Wallis to conduct a meeting.

Shooting at Bellville Texas Leaves Man Dead

Sid Diemer was shot and killed on his way to Bellville in a wagon with his brother D P Diemer. The alleged shooter is Dick Shelbourne aged 18 to 20 who used buckshot from a shotgun. Herman Malenke was wounded in the shoulder by buckshot near Herman Draehn’s farmhouse, Shelbourne’s brother in law. Shelbourne sought aid from John Froelich to call the sheriff. Six or seven years earlier Sid Diemer’s relatives were tried for killing Jeff Shelbourne but acquitted.
