Ramsey returns from 30 day Navy leave in Katy
Boatswain's mate Joseph Elwood Ramsey, U S Navy, arrived in California after a 30 day leave visiting Katy friends and relatives. Born in Artesia Wells Texas, he served on the Hornet and participated in landings at Attu Kiska Tarawa the Marshalls Guam and Lingayen Gulf. He has been in the Navy since January after Pearl Harbor and survived the Hornet.
