County Judge accused over payments on worthless warrants
The piece reports that Waller county issued about 12000 worth of warrants in 1929 and 1930 to collect delinquent taxes, most later deemed invalid for lack of service. Eight years later Judge Crump approved paying some at 100 percent from the general fund. It alleges improper payments to itinerant painters for courthouse improvements and unbid work.
