Ex service men in Brookshire and Pattison receive about 350000 in Bonus Bonds delivered by postmasters. Men plan to spend on cars, clothes, home remodeling or debts. G. T. Shearer is named the first to receive the bonus in Brookshire amid farming and business hardship.
A wedding of interest occurred June 8 in East Bernard between Misset Johnson of Simonton and R A Wilpitz of Brookshire. Wilpitz is connected with the Service Garage in the area.
Mrs Roe McPherson and her infant accompanied by a companion visited Houston Saturday, drawing attention from local residents as they toured city sights and joined public events.
