Texas Democrats Instruct Delegates To St Louis Convention

The Texas state Democratic convention at San Antonio chose Governor James Ferguson to head the delegation to the St Louis national convention. Judge Wearwag was elected permanent chairman, with 438 votes to 406 for Judge A B Watkins. The platform favored Wilson and Marshall, opposed national Prohibition and federal woman suffrage, and endorsed Ferguson for governor and his cooperation with the president on national issues. Delegates at large and district delegates were named, with complex roll calls and no alternates at large.
