Katy Firemen Attend Texas Training School at A&M
Katy Volunteer Fire Department sent James Eukene Poorman and nine others to the Texas Firemen Training School at Texas A&M College last week. Attendees studied oil and butane fires, chemicals, extinguishers, water application, pump and truck operations, hose care, and ladder drills. Gordon Fussell filmed the drill and the department added 1000 feet of 214 inch hose with a pickup loan from Arthur Miller.

Glen McCarthy judged eighteen contestants in evening gowns representing their home fire departments. Louise received a weekend at the Shamrock with all expenses paid.
