Sumas Production will drill the J. J. Menke No. 1 wildcat three miles south of Hempstead in Waller County. The project sits in the Charles Dona ho survey as materials for drilling are moved to the location while shooting crews have operated in the Hempstead area.
The tenth grade held a December 16 class party sponsored by Miss Doris Nesbitt featuring Monopoly clap in and clap out games candy cake sandwiches and cocoa. Attendees included Leon ard Phillips Lula Taylor Tucker Loescher Margaret Phillips Leo Goates Ruth Elsie Wendt Julius Maes Aileen Glueck Perry Robertson Gladys Stenzel Norman Ginn Alma Keineke.
Willis D. Jones aged 63 years 10 months 25 days died Tuesday January 5 at his Pattison home after pneumonia. A longtime Pattison resident from Mississippi he served as assistant Postmaster. Survived by his wife two sons and two daughters Mrs Guy Pattison and Mrs J H Lundy. Funeral January 7 conducted by Rev J D F Houck at Pattison cemetery under A H Muske Funeral Parlor supervision.
Mr and Mrs Walter Ebel of Houston visited his mother Mrs Wm Ebel during the holidays. Allen Glueck spent days in Galveston for Amateur Code exams. Mr and Mrs Adolph Weis and his mother boarded with Se 1-¢ 2 i NOWAaYR. Mr and Mrs H G Bailey and daughter visited Willie Mikeska family. Elizabeth Thomas sister of L S Thomas visited Pattison. Mr and Mrs C Thomas spent holidays with relatives in Arizona. Mr and Mrs A B Hooker and family moved to Brookshire. Mr and Mrs E L Gray and family moved about two miles out of town.
Local residents share holiday reunions with relatives in Huntsville Fort Worth Austin San Marcos and Baytown. Mrs Hiram Campbell and children Patsy Jean and Powell head home to Oklahoma after a month here with Mrs E P Henry. Alvin Neuman remains in a Houston hospital with pneumonia and shows small improvement.
Miss Francis Miller returned to T U in Austin Sunday. Mrs. Sadie Case and daughter of Houston visited Mrs. Hattie Roberts over the weekend. Sixty four attended the watch night party at the M E church League room on New Year’s Eve with games and refreshments. Gospel singing led by Jimmie Ray and prayers by Rev. J F Wallace and Rev. Roy Harrold ushered in 1987. Jimmie Ray, Roberta Wright and others roller skated at South Main rinks in Houston after church services.
