January hatchery data from Texas shows dramatic gains over 1935 with 728,798 egg capacity up 48 percent, 866,717 eggs set up 376.6 percent, and 126,821 salable chicks hatched up 669.8 percent. national figures also rise though Texas leads in growth.

Washington reports two thirds of Southern farmers, mainly in the cotton and tobacco belt, are tenants or sharecroppers. The United States Texas Centennial Commission approved plans and specifications for the Government exhibit building in Dallas after technical review by Treasury architects. Exposition architect George L. Dahl delivered the plans. a temporary structure is planned with a May 25 completion target, two weeks before the June 6 opening.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday February 23 1986 at the Sterling home in Pattison by Rev J D F Hauck for Miss Francis Lucie Norris who died in San Antonio February 20 1986 while attending school. Interment followed at Pattison Cemetery.
F E Lichte assistant chairman State Allotment Board states that despite cotton acreage reduction contracts being invalidated by a Supreme Court decision, producers who entered such contracts remain obliged to distribute parity payments to tenants and croppers. If funds are not distributed, the government may withhold cotton price adjustment payments or set off unpaid parity amounts.
Mrs. Ebel was rushed to St. Josephs hospital in Houston by Muske Ambulance on Monday evening for a major operation. Latest reports say she is improving nicely.
Federal Judge Robert Patterson reserved ruling on a motion to set aside a search warrant used to seize a $338 000 gold hoard owned by Zelik Josefowitz a Lithuanian alien and nonresident The case centers on whether a foreigner s property may be seized and whether the President s anti hoarding edict binds non citizens Meanwhile the government boosted libel assessments against Josefowitz and family from 1000 600 to 1 168 274 covering income taxes penalties and interest alleged due the Government
Mrs Sophie Seeberger Schulte dies at her son J H Schulte’s Brookshire home on February 21 1936 at 1 00 pm born in Switzer land August 2 1849 moved to Cat Springs in 1857 married Henry Schulte in 1869 and left five children seventeen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren Survivors include J H Schulte Brookshire Armand Schulte Brookshire Julius Schulte Houston Burial held February 22 1986 at 2 30 pm conducted by Rev J D F Hauck at the German Methodist cemetery Pat ison with interment in the cemetery
