January tax collections in Walker County show state total 18852.42 and county total 46246.86 including roads 4298.30 and schools 17696.11. Total poll tax 1820. Roads and schools are included in the county total.
A Catholic service is scheduled for every fourth Sunday at 11 a.m. in Brookshire highlighting a regular parish observance for local worshippers.
