Residents around Brookshire and Katy urge creation of HB 302 Brookshire Katy Drainage District to manage 47000 acres in southeast Waller County Texas. Hearing held February 21 before the Reclamation Conservation Committee in Austin with Rep Myra Banfield and Senator Culp Krueger backing the bill. Addicks School Board Votes to Dissolve Dist
Addicks Independent School District votes at a February 16 meeting to dissolve the district effective July 1. The district will be annexed mainly by Katy ISD with 75 percent to Katy 18 percent to Houston and the rest to Spring Branch. Katy ISD will open an elementary at Addicks led by Principal M L Wolfe. Petitions will be circulated for voter signatures to gain county approval.

Funeral Services Held for C. R. Johnson in Katy
Funeral services for C. R. Johnson were held at the First Baptist Church in Katy on Wednesday afternoon February 22 with Rev. Charles E. Stewart and two assistants officiating. Interment followed in Memorial Oaks Cemetery. Johnson, born September 25, 1892 in Austin, Texas, lived and farmed rice in multiple Texas towns before retiring about 12 years ago. He died February 20 in a Houston hospital.
