The annual Brookshire ISD school election is set for Saturday April 7 to fill seven board vacancies as terms expire for F A Ebel Guy Sturm Jr E D Legler G T Shearer A C Dozier H E B Schulte and D Landsberger. Candidates have not announced and ballot applications are due ten days before election. Local residents Ethel Chaney Mrs Mildred visit Wallis school life noted. Members of the local Methodist W M S hosted a George Washington party in the Sunday School rooms of the Methodist Church. Decorations used patriotic colors with Washington pictures cherries hats and flags. Guests enjoyed games a Washington Museum and refreshments of cherry pie and coffee. Out of town visitors included Mr and Mrs Dick Cuny A B Anderson and J H Day of Hempstead. Mrs Cuny and Whitt Bains Jr received best costumes with silver and black portraits of George and Martha Washington.

Texas Week observance set by legislature in 1933
The Texas legislature designated the week containing March as Texas Week to honor state history and achievements. Principal Wylie A.
