Former Representative Jesse F. Ward of Rosenberg reenters politics to seek the Democratic nomination for the 20th district seat covering Fort Bend and Waller counties. He previously served 1945 to 1949 and was Fort Bend county superintendent 1924 to 1929, later a Rosenberg cotton gin and real estate businessman. He vows to serve voters to the best of his ability.

Mrs. Earl Thompson 44 of Seabrook died Tuesday night February 12 in a Dallas hospital. Services were Friday at Moravia Catholic Church with Father A V Maneth officiating. Interment followed in Moravia Catholic Cemetery. A Katy High School graduate from the class of 1950, noted for full participation in sports, completed three months at the Naval Training Center in San Diego. He then attended Naval Air Corps School in Jacksonville for eight weeks, advanced school in Memphis for fourteen weeks, and graduates this week as an aviation machinist mate. He will be transferred to a jet fighter squadron in San Diego to resume duty.

Earle North Houston Auto Dealer Dies in Phoenix
Earle North a prominent Houston businessman and civic leader died shortly after 9 a m Monday in Phoenix Arizona of a heart attack. He moved to Houston in 1930 from Fort Worth and served as chairman of the Chamber of Commerce membership committee president of the Houston Club and an officer of Boys Harbor. North was long interested in stock raising and until two years ago owned a large herd of Guernsey dairy cattle on his ranch near Simonton Fort Bend County. His Guernsey heifer won by Lolita Buchanan for ticket sales at the 1949 Pin Oak Stables Horse Show was donated by North from his ranch.
