Senate Committee Backs Farm Electrification Plan
Washington reports the Senate Agriculture committee approved Norris bill to create a permanent rural electrification administration with one billion dollars. It would set aside 100 million dollars for ten years in loans to states municipalities or nonprofits to fund generating plants and lines, repayable over forty years at 3 percent. Norris Cooke welcomed the move noting the program already authorized over four million in loans and nearly 4000 miles of lines built on an emergency basis.

Mrs. Sylvia Marshall aged 78 died at her son H A Marshall’s home in Houston on February 19 1936 at 4 20 pm. She had lived in the area 18 years and in the county 45 years and was a Church of Christ member. She leaves a daughter Mrs C J Meyer of Taft three sons Helen Connie and Boyce Marshall a sister and two brothers. Services were at the Settegast Kopf home in Houston at 7 00 am and burial followed at Pattison cemetery at 2 30 pm.
