The Farmers Union with about 250000 members issues a statement calling for a halt to pro and anti quarrels as it presses for constructive agricultural legislation in Texas. They urge removing the liquor question from current campaigns to prevent obstructing needed measures for farmers.
The Farmers' Educational and Co-Operative Union of Texas declares it will endorse no candidates but will support those aligned with its peaceful, constructive program. It calls for pro growth laws, strong legislature, and cooperation between farmers and city business leaders to accelerate Texas development. D. Lewis and Peter Radford sign as president and ex-president.
The February term order allocates the county road crew work time between two precinct classes. Class A includes tax supported road bond precincts Beats 1 5 6 with over two thirds of taxable road values. Class B includes Beats 2 3 4 without road bond taxes.
The record states taxable values aggregate about one third of total values. It orders that the County road crew be apportioned as Class A to Beats Nos. 1, 5 and 66 for sixty actual working days each and Class B to Beats Nos. 2, 3 and 4 for thirty actual working days each. The classification will be made every year.
Notice states a mass meeting will be held in the city on Saturday February 21 1914 at 2 p m to select three committeemen for the committee to supervise and control road improvements using bonds proceeds. Citizens interested in public highways urged to attend and assist in the selection.

Mr. Repsilver died at his home near this city Tuesday night. Wes Gadson, colored, died Tuesday night of pneumonia. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Smith, a baby, on Monday. C. Schlipf, a prosperous farmer near Katy, was in the city that week on business. J. B. Winfree, an old-time Texan near Waller, was here last week. A fine rain fell here Wednesday that will retard the progress of plowing and planting.
