Ground-Breaking Planned for Brookshire Methodist Church
Ground breaking for the new Brookshire Methodist Church will be held at 3:00 p m Sunday March 1. Kenneth Schulte heads the Building Committee and said construction will start soon after the ceremony. The new building will include a sanctuary pastor's study eight classrooms and storage while the old structure becomes a social hall until a second unit is added. Richard Woods reported over one third of funds are on hand and Rev Larry M Stokes urged everyone to attend.

Garbage pickup to be resumed in city

R B Bean Appointed Mail Carrier on Katy Star Route
R B Bean was named mail carrier for the Katy Star Route to fill the unexpired term of J B Simons. Bean's contract runs from February 16 to June 30 1955 covering about seventy miles and 250 families including the Katy Gas Cycling Plant office and camp.
