Funeral services for Charlie Lee Brunkenhoefer Sr were conducted at Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev J M Hayes officiating. Interment followed at WOW Cemetery in Rosenberg. He died from a heart attack while en route to Houston to visit his daughter after stopping to fix a flat two miles from Addickson. Born April 2 1901 in Columbus, he lived locally most of his life and worked as a farmer, then in public service, later as Brookshire’s nightwatchman for about nine years until retirement.

Auto Crash Injures Three at Katy Bridge
Three people were seriously hurt in a head on collision Thursday night February 11 about 9 15 at a bridge on Highway 90 in Katy. Mildred Srubar and David Walter Williams crashed two 1965 cars. Williams passenger Ellis Powell of Houston also injured. All were hospitalized at Sam Houston General Hospital.
