Truck Rams Ray Grocery in Fire and Crash
The N. C. Ray Grocery in Katy suffered a total loss after a morning fire gutted the store. Firefighters extinguished the blaze with the help of a Houston Post carrier who reported the incident. A subsequent 1961 truck crash caused further damage to the building and its belongings.

Rice acreage rise to boost sales and harvest outlook
