Katy Development Company Chartered to Develop Katy

The Katy Development Company received its charter from the Secretary of State on February 7. It plans to subdivide real estate and aid Katy’s development, focusing initially on Presidential Property. The initial board includes W. J. Dube J. R. Collins and Dr. L. W. Bing with Dube as president Dolling as vice president and Lyndon Bing as secretary and treasurer.

Highway Speed Limits Set For Katy City Limits

D. D. Marvel of the Texas Highway Department met with Katy City Council to discuss a proposed speed limit plan. The council approved a 50 and 45 mph posting within city limits with a 15 mph school hour reduction and requested signs. They also asked for no parking signs within 50 feet of each intersection.

Services Held Sunday For Will Buller

Funeral services were held at Pattison Methodist Church for William Robert Buller who died February 11 at Sealy hospital at age 84. Interment followed in Pattison Methodist Cemetery with Schmidt Funeral Home directing. Survivors include his wife Mattie, a son E H Buller of Baytown, seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren along with several relatives. Pallbearers were Dutch Hammerling Stewart Pattison Allen Taylor Frank Gostecnik George Pattison Ford McCauley and Randolph Sterling.

The 1956 car and truck licenses went on sale Saturday at Rheman Motor Co. in Brookshire. Licenses will be sold from to 5 every weekday until the deadline of April 1.
