The Methodist parsonage interior has been repapered and recovered to improve appearance and comfort. Subscriptions to The Times include Dr J M Stewart Katy W D Bains A Apopian W M Wilpitz Lisle McPherson Hockley J Ed Cabinese Katy and G W Schultz Selman Okla. Schultz is leading a meeting at the Full Gospel Mission in Katy. Lisle McPherson County Superintendent of Public Instruction visited and spoke on tax payments easing school fund concerns and completing planned school terms.
A surprise gathering for Hugo Seidel at his home last Wednesday drew many friends. The event included a "Who's Who" contest, radio music, fruit punch and cake, with gifts ranging from krout to cravats, and the honoree arrived already dressed for the celebration.
Mr and Mrs J W Avery hosted a delicious supper last Monday evening for six to ten guests. Chicken stew hot rolls salad condiments and dessert followed by ice box cake. Afterward guests and hosts enjoyed lively conversation by a wood fire in an old fashioned fireplace.
Miss Nantie Pier of Bay City who attends Business College in Houston spent the weekend there with Mr. A B Anderson. A Brookshire native, she met many childhood friends during her visit.
