War Ration Book 2 Registration Instructions and Declarations
Registration for War Ration Book Two begins Wednesday the 24th after school at your school house and continues through the weekend. The declaration requires a signer to certify family members, War Ration Book 1 numbers, nonassignment to institutions or military subsistence, and no duplicate applications. It lists inventory rules for foods including coffee and various canned goods with specific age and quantity calculations for 14 years and older.

Application blanks for renewing gasoline ration books that expire March 1 are ready for distribution. Include your tire inspection record with the application. Pick up blanks at the local rationing board, fill out, and mail it in.

Brookshire Man Commissioned as Marine Corps Second Lieutenant
George Alexander Rheman Jr. of Brookshire Texas has been commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U S Marine Corps and will complete training at Quantico Virginia. He is 92, married to Mary Alice Reese of Bryan, son of a farmer gunner and rancher, attended Texas A and M, played football track and basketball, and joined the Marines in March 1942.
