Henry DeWitt of Houston visited here last Sunday. Joe Schininski returned to our city Wednesday night after six months away at Rogers where he has run a mercantile business. The note mentions keeping a doe in Rogers with difficulty.
A Department of Education report by Mrs. R L Ragsdale praises Brookshire as a high quality third class school with 92 pupils and four teachers. The library is standard but lacks history sources and general reading titles, while science apparatus is well arranged. the high school offers ten solid courses through clever class combinations.
Mr and Mrs Howard Price of Houston spent the weekend with W D Mills and family Dr P M Donigan and wife G H Zahmen and wife traveled to West Columbia oil field last Sunday Dr Donigan is president of the company operating there and overseeing the interest Miss Amy Verret of Houston spent Sunday with Mrs A B Anderson

Dr L W Bains was taken to Houston Monday morning for medical care after an infected tooth caused a serious abscess. News from the bedside reported the abscess opened and he was resting easier with doctors seeing improvement.
A roof fire at the N. G. Pier residence was discovered at noon on a Tuesday. Schoolboys, dismissed for recess, acted quickly and heroically to extinguish the blaze before it caused damage. Misa Jennie DeWitt of Houston visits relatives in the city with Mia and W. D. Milla.
