The Waller County Farm Bureau kicked off a membership drive led by President Kenneth Schulte with 20 workers at Kelley's Steakhouse Hempstead. Membership chair Richard Frey organized the program. Wesley Nelson son spoke praising the bureau and its benefits, with a goal of 50 new members. Hornets finish 11A district champions in rout over Elgin
Hornets led Elgin 42 to 20 at halftime and rolled to a 72 45 win to clinch the 11 A district title at Prairie View A&M College. Coach Jerry Young praised a 23 6 season and seven district wins. State tourney runs February 17–18 at Prairie View with an All-Star game slated February 10 at home.
