Klein and Waller Placed On Probation in Basketball

The Distries 25-AA executive committee in Katy placed Klein and Waller on probation for the remainder of the 1969-70 season and the 1970-71 season after an on court altercation following a January 27 game. Klein cited for player misconduct. Waller for fan disorderly conduct. Proceeding will move to the University Interscholastic League.

Yvonne Bolin Opens Longhorn Emporium

Yvonne Bolin takes over the Longhorn Emporium in Fayly Texas, previously run by Mrs Travis Bolin also formerly operated Tulip and The Chicken Antiques in Corpus Christi. The shop opens Friday and will be open daily except Mondays from 9:00 to 5:00.

Katy City Awards Bid for New Police Car

The City of Katy Board accepted Milley Motor Company bid of 3188.71 for a Chevrolet police car while Katy Auto offered 8301.19 for a Ford. Ward A and Ward B elections set for April 4 with candidates listed and inspectors named. City to insure fire department vehicles up to 50 miles outside and 1941 fire truck to be overhauled. Saturday office closures begin February 14. Salary raises approved for officers and city staff including clerks and secretary.

Katy Mothers plan a chicken barbecue at the VFW Community Center on Sunday February 16 1970. Serving runs 11 am to 2 pm. Plates cost 1.76 dollars for adults and 1.26 dollars for children. Proceeds aid the Little League athletic program. Tickets go on sale soon.

The 20th Annual Girl Scout Cookie Sale begins Tuesday February 10 at 4 p.m. Four varieties will be sold with proceeds funding camps and equipment. Cookies remain 50 cents per box and six dollars per carton of 12, with cartons available for mailing to service members or students.

Scout-O-Rama Set For Saturday At Rosenberg

Hundreds of Scouters will converge on the Fort Bend County Fair Grounds Rosenberg for the Grand Scout-O Rama on Saturday February 7 from two to eight pm.
