State Champion Tigers Honored At Banquet
Katy High School and Junior High football squads and coaches were guests of the Dad's Club at the Second Annual Banquet. Rev Jenkins served as emcee, Rev Dibbens delivered the invocation, and Coach Jim Myers spoke on athletic participation values. The State Championship trophy was presented by Superintendent Taylor and accepted for the team, with further individual awards and lettermen honored. Approximately two hundred attended the event.

Texas Fiberglass Specialty Co. Inc. of Katy moved to larger quarters last week. They occupy the former Rice Belt Implement building across from Robertson Implement Co. on Highway 90 west of Katy. H. E. Hood and C. F. Hoyt formed the company about a year ago and now offer feed troughs and tanks from 60 to 1000 gallons, plus a trailer or skid mount for larger tanks.

Katy School Board Election Set For April 2 1960
Katy Independent School District will hold trustee elections on April 2 replacing the usual May date due to a conflict with the Texas Democratic Primary on May 7. Three board seats 3 4 and 5 are up for election currently held by Van Scroggins J D Woods and Melvin Scott. Scott completes his second term while Scroggins and Woods finish their first three year term. Filing deadline and appointments for election officials will be set at the next school board meeting.
